The large drawings that set the stage in the works shown here carry markings of charcoal, locally sourced river clay and pastel crayons. They are part of a bigger series in which I explore the tensions between care, vulnerability, strength, resistance and the ability to let go or hold on. The purposeful amplification of color in these works coincides with the emergence this new line of artistic inquiry that continues to shape my practice. As in my other work this series also addresses the creative process itself. A way of bearing witness to the intimacy between intention, moment and material, to collaborating with what is other and unknown, to putting oneself at stake in order to bring something new into being.
