Paradox of Power: inaugural event

Coming up this Thursday March 21st: the live streaming event of the inaugural address of prof. dr. Flor Avelino featuring a new series of visual art alongside the inspiring and thoughtful words of Flor.
It has been such an honor and a joy to collaborate with Flor Avelino in the run up to her inaugural lecture. We go way back and have worked together many years at DRIFT, but this is the first time we bring together artistic and academic research. Building on the deep resonance between my work as an artist and her research on power, paradox and justice, it has been truly inspiring and generative to work alongside each other!
The first fruit of our collaboration will be shared as part of Flor’s inaugural address on Thursday the 21st of March. My work will feature in her presentation and I will also exhibit a selection of original works in the Senaatszaal of the ‘Academiegebouw’ of Utrecht University.
The next step will take shape in the form of a collaborative website called Alterotopia which we hope to launch in the coming months. More on that to follow!
